Hosting Services Engineer

James Tower is seeking a Linux engineer to join a fast paced, customer focused web hosting environment.  James Tower’s team based environment provides significant individual technical development plus the opportunity to work with our programming, client services and creative services departments to develop and deploy great technical solutions to help our customers grow their businesses. 

Candidates must have a demonstrated sense of ownership and responsibility for a Linux server environment.  Willingness and ability to promptly respond to alerts 24 X 7 X 365 as part of an on call support rotation will be required.  Essential components of this position are: strong attention to details, the ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects concurrently, great interpersonal communication skills including both verbal & listening components, and the demonstrated ability and willingness to take ownership of production impacting issues from identification to resolution. Technical ability must include 3 or more years of Red Hat Linux server build and support experience along with Linux system management/administration, system architecture design and consultation experience and general knowledge of TCP networks.  RHCE/RHCT certifications and Oracle database experience is a plus.  Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
